Although we do not live directly in a flood zone, we are a mere two hours from the Minnesota-North Dakota border, where the Red River of the North often floods. Our class does a field study in the spring or fall to two sites on the Otter Tail River to better understand factors that contribute to flooding. The Otter Tail is a tributary of the Red River.
